The City of Kansas City, Missouri Law Department has two full-time positions with starting pay of $59,340 plus excellent benefits.
|CORPORATE DIVISION: Represents the City of Kansas City by providing legal advice to City Departments and filing civil actions regarding nuisance properties, dangerous buildings assessments, and receivership cases. All work is performed under the direction of the City Attorney
LITIGATION DIVISION: Defends workers’ compensation claims brought against the City of Kansas City Missouri and the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department. Investigates claims, reviews of medical records, and takes depositions and other forms of discovery. Appears before the Administrative Law Judges at the Missouri Division of Workers’ Compensation for conferences, mediations and hearings. All work is performed under the direction of the City Attorney.
|REQUIRES graduation from an accredited school of law. Must be admitted to the MO Bar Association and possess the right to practice in all courts in the State of Missouri.
